Quantitative Reasoning
1. A machine fills 240 bottles in 4 hours. Working at the same constant rate, how many bottles does it fill in 90 minutes?
2. If n is a positive integer and the remainder when n is divided by 6 is 4, what is the remainder when 3n is divided by 6?
Verbal Reasoning
3. City officials report that since a protected bicycle lane opened on Main Street, the number of cyclists injured on that street has increased by 30 percent. They conclude that the lane has made cycling on Main Street more dangerous. Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the officials' conclusion?
4. Economists have long treated remittances, the money sent home by migrant workers, as a stabilizing force for developing economies, since they tend to rise when a recipient country's economy weakens. Recent studies complicate this picture. Where remittances make up a large share of national income, they can push up the value of the local currency, making exports less competitive and discouraging the very industries that might reduce dependence on migration in the first place. The author's primary purpose in the passage is to:
Data Insights
5. Is the positive integer k divisible by 12?
(1) k is divisible by 4.
(2) k is divisible by 6.
6. A company's revenue rose from $2.0 million in 2023 to $2.5 million in 2024, while its costs rose from $1.6 million to $1.9 million over the same period. By approximately what percent did the company's profit increase from 2023 to 2024?
